NEW YORK – Nashville Predators forward Michael McCarron has been fined $2,343.75, the maximum allowable under the Collective Bargaining Agreement, for slashing Washington Capitals defenseman Trevor van Riemsdyk during NHL Game No. 908 in Washington, D.C., on Thursday, Feb. 5, the National Hockey League’s Department of Player Safety announced today.

The incident occurred at 8:20 of the third period.

The money goes to the Players’ Emergency Assistance Fund.
