WASHINGTON -- After our last game in Montreal against Team North America on Sunday, we came right over to Washington. We had off on Monday and got back to practice on Tuesday.
A day off is always nice. Our schedule hasn't been too bad, but it's always nice when you have a chance to relax and get your head away from hockey for a day. I just walked around the city a little bit and saw The White House. I appreciate history. I don't necessarily have to go to a museum, but I appreciate it.
We had a team dinner Monday night too at a steakhouse, which was really nice. Even though it was a day off, it was still a pretty hectic day.
Today, we had our morning skate for our game against Team Sweden. I feel like we're all ready to go for tonight. It was important to get our legs back under us.
Tonight is another chance for us to get together and find our game within the group. It's a pretty important game for us. We know we need to play well with the World Cup about to begin.
I think once the tournament starts, every team has a good chance. There's too many good players on every team for a team not to have a chance to win. We're getting together as a group and we're getting closer as a team, which is really nice for us.
