Jackets trim training camp roster by six players

The Columbus Blue Jackets trimmed their training camp roster by six players, club General Manager Jarmo Kekalainen announced today. There are now currently 53 players in camp - 30 forwards, 18 defensemen and five goaltenders.

The following players were released from their tryout contracts - LW Luke Kirwan, LW Trent Fox, RW Justin Brazeau, D Stephen Desrocher, D Médric Mercier and D Nate Billitier.
The club also announced that center Sam Vigneault will be sidelined four-to-six weeks due to a broken finger.
The Blue Jackets, who are 0-1-0 in the preseason, return to action tonight when they visit the St. Louis Blues. Game time at Scottrade Center is 8 p.m. ET and will be broadcast on 1460 ESPN in Columbus.
