The Vegas Golden Knights (21-6-1) picked up their fifth win in a row as they knocked off the Los Angeles Kings (12-11-6), 4-2, on Friday night at Staples Center.
HOW IT WENT DOWN
Midway through the opening frame, Max Pacioretty converted on a Mark Stone pass to give the Golden Knights a 1-0 lead. Pacioretty was credited with another goal two minutes later as Jonathan Quick's glove was over the goal line when he caught the backhand shot. A late goal from Alex Iafallo got the Kings on the board heading into the second period. Trevor Moore tied the game early in the second, but William Karlsson's deflection goal put Vegas ahead, 3-2. At the midway mark of the third, William Carrier notched his first goal of the season to double the Vegas lead to 4-2. Robin Lehner held the Kings off the board late to win his return to the Golden Knights' net after missing 18 games with an injury.
