DENVER -- Mikko Rantanen scored the go-ahead goal with 2:18 left in the third period to give the Colorado Avalanche a 2-1 win against the Dallas Stars at Ball Arena on Wednesday.

Logan O'Connor also scored in the third for the Avalanche. Alexandar Georgiev made 32 saves, including 18 in the first period.
Riley Damiani scored for the Stars. Scott Wedgewood saved all 18 shots he faced through the first two periods, and Anton Khudobin made 13 saves in the third.
Damiani gave Dallas a 1-0 lead at 4:27 of the second period with a wrist shot from the slot.
O'Connor tied it 1-1 at 12:36 of the third after Khudobin was unable to poke check the puck away from the crease.
The Stars announced after the game they signed forward Jason Robertson to a four-year contract ($7.75 million average annual value).
