Szabados backstopped Canada to consecutive gold medals at the 2010 Vancouver Olympics and 2014 Sochi Games and still plays professionally as a member of the professional women's hockey players association. But Szabados also gave birth to a baby girl, Shaylyn, in August and as a new mom she wanted to teach important lessons to parents and kids alike. "Shannon wanted to write a book that was more than just words on paper, something that her daughter could learn from," the book description says.
