The Columbus Blue Jackets announced today multi-year extensions of the National Hockey League club's partnerships with Sports Radio 97.1 The Fan (WBNS-Radio) and CD102.5 (WWCD-Radio). Sports Radio 97.1 The Fan will continue to serve as the flagship station of the club's radio network, carrying live all preseason, regular season and playoff games with any conflicted games airing on CD102.5. WBNS-Radio and WWCD-Radio have been the exclusive radio home of Blue Jackets hockey since the inaugural 2000-01 season.
"Sports Radio 97.1 The Fan is central Ohio's leader in sports radio programming and we are proud to have it continue as our flagship station, bringing Blue Jackets hockey to passionate sports fans," said Blue Jackets Vice President of Digital Marketing and Media Marc Gregory. "The Fan and CD102.5 have been tremendous partners since our inaugural 2000-01 season and we look forward to extending these partnerships into our third decade."

"We are excited to continue our long-standing relationship with the Blue Jackets," said Todd Markiewicz, 97.1 The Fan General Manager. "We are looking forward to providing fans comprehensive Blue Jackets coverage through game broadcasts, ancillary programming, guest appearances from team personnel and CBJ talk throughout our programming lineup."
"Our station and the Blue Jackets share a strong commitment to the city of Columbus, and we are extremely excited to continue our partnership," said CD102.5 Owner and General Manager Randy Malloy.
As part of the agreement, Sports Radio 97.1 The Fan will air pre- and post-game shows surrounding each game broadcast, including an expanded 30-minute pre-game show for regular season games and 60 minute pre-game show in the postseason. Additional programming includes "The Inside Edge," a weekly one-hour show throughout the season hosted by Blue Jackets radio play-by-play broadcaster Bob McElligott and former Blue Jacket and current television color analyst Jody Shelley, as well as season preview, playoff preview and NHL Draft shows.
In addition, Shelley will be a featured guest during station shows on game days during the week; and club television play-by-play broadcaster Jeff Rimer will be a weekly guest on "Common Man & T-Bone" throughout the upcoming season.
