The full-page ad, which ran in the Tampa Bay Times sports section on Sunday, plays video of Martin St. Louis' No. 26 jersey raising the AMALIE Arena rafters on the VidPic AR App giving fans an opportunity to experience the jersey retirement if they were unable to attend Friday's sold out game.
To access the augmented reality experience, fans can download VidPic AR from either the App Store or Google Play and scan the ad's image of Marty to relive the historic night.
The augmented reality experience also works on laptop or desktop computers by using their phone to point at the ad on a desktop or laptop. Fans can view the letter by going to

"We're always looking for new ways to engage our fans," commented Eric Blankenship, Vice President of Marketing for the Tampa Bay Lightning. "This augmented reality initiative allowed our fans to experience a very special night in a different way. Just as important, it gave potential non-fans a chance to see what they missed."
"With augmented reality, the Lightning were able to bring an emotional and historic experience into the homes of over 475,000 Tampa Bay Times print subscribers," VidPic AR CEO Ron Rudderman said.
