Last night's game against the Columbus Blue Jackets centered on an important theme: the fight against cancer.

Lavender light soaked the arena as fans made their way into STAPLES Center. As they came in and walked down the steps, they paused, for each seat in the area had a placard waiting for them.
We wanted their stories. Who they fought for. Because we are all in this fight together.

Before the game started, we offered a chance for fans to stand with the Selke, Norris and Lady Byng trophies. Each $10 donation went straight to #BreakawayForCancer.

Our players donned lavendar warm up jerseys for auction, the color of our #HockeyFightsCancer night.

Throughout the evening, we honored those who have battled hard and came out on the other side stronger than ever. Like 10-year-old Cooper, who was treated at Children's Hospital Los Angeles and was now in remission.

We honored those who were still deep in the fight, like our scout, Denis Fugere.

Our lovable Bailey reached out to fans near and far, letting their stories be told in this moving video below:

Before the game began, we asked Kings fans at the arena and from afar to share their stories and tell us who they fought for.
The response was overwhelming.

We thank you, Kings fans. Thank you to those who attended last night, and thank you to those who sent us their deeply moving stories across social media.
Together, we fight against this disease. We fight for our families, our friends, our loved ones. Cancer affects us all, but we will never let cancer win.
