Top Flight Programs

The Anaheim Ducks and The Rinks are teaming up to provide everyone with an opportunity to play hockey! Launched in 2013, The Top Flight program presented by CHOC Children's started as a street hockey league designed for special needs individuals of all ages and abilities. It has since expanded to include street hockey, ice skating, ice hockey, as well as various free events throughout the year for the special needs community.

Top Flight Ice Hockey

The Anaheim Ducks Top Flight Ice Hockey program is an ice hockey program designed for individuals with special needs to play the sport of ice hockey. For eight weeks, players will participate in a weekly clinic focusing on the fundamentals of hockey including skating, shooting, passing, and stick handling, and will also play in weekly games.

Top Flight Street Hockey League

The Anaheim Ducks Top Flight Street Hockey Program is an eight-week hockey program designed for participants with special needs to play the sport of hockey. For eight weeks, players will participate in a weekly clinic focusing on the fundamentals of hockey including skating, shooting, passing and stick handling, and will also play in weekly games.

Top Flight Street Hockey Details

  • Location: The Rinks - Irvine Inline
  • When: Saturdays, 12:00 - 1:00 p.m.
  • Cost: $100
  • Sticks and Jerseys are included in league fee

Special Olympics Learn to Skate

THE RINKS - Lakewood ICE offers a special Learn to Skate class specifically designed for special needs individuals of all ages and abilities.
This eight-week program offers classes on Wednesdays or Saturdays and will go over the basic fundamentals of ice skating.

Skaters will learn:
Badge 1

  • A. Stand unassisted for 5 seconds
  • B. Sit on ice or fall and stand up unassisted
  • C. Knee dip standing still unassisted
  • D. March forward 10 steps assisted
