The Devils will host the Colorado Avalanche tonight at Prudential Center. Here's what you need to know:

1) Jon Merrill returns to the line up tonight after missing the past four games with an upper body injury. Cory Schneider gets the start in goal.

2) The Avs have only 32 points on the season and lost 12 of their last 14 games, including the last three. They average just two goals a game, while allowing an average of 3.4.

3) With 56 points in 55 games, the Devils are five points out of a playoff position, but they're also two points out of last in the Eastern Conference. Every game from this point on is critically important if they want to be a relevant team in April. Not only does that team want to bounce back after the last game, but they also want to improve in the standings with a key home win.

Make sure to tune in tonight with your sweetheart to MSG or listen to it on WFAN or The One Jersey Network. Puck drops at 7 p.m.
