March is upon us and many leagues around the world have either started their playoffs or having that last push before the postseason.

In the NCAA, the upcoming weekend is the final weekend of the regular season throughout the United States. In the CHL, the teams are jockeying for their final positions before starting their quest for the Memorial Cup.
February saw quite a few Canucks prospects make their presence felt and thus made it hard to land on the three stars for the month. However, it does allow us to focus on a couple of prospects who haven't had the same spotlight throughout the year as others have.
Without further ado, let's take a look at the top three performers and a few others who likely could've made the cut as well.

Third Star - D Matt Brassard

The 2017 7th round pick has made the most of his move to Niagara (OHL). Since being moved to the contending IceDogs, Brassard has posted 24 points (3-21-24) in 21 games. That 1.14 point-per-game pace is well above the 0.77 PPG that he saw with Oshawa prior to the trade.
Brassard is generating shots are an extremely high rate with an average of 3.42 shots-per-game with Niagara. With only a 4.2% shooting percentage, there is a chance that his goal totals will increase as the season winds down or he will continue to pile up the assists through deflections rebounds.
In 11 games in the month of February, Brassard posted one goal and 12 assists.
Brassard is tied for seventh in points among OHL defencemen and his 196 shots on goal this season has him sitting second among that same group.

Second Star - D Jett Woo

Jett Woo continues to tear up the WHL on a nightly basis.
In the 11 games that Woo suited up for in February, Woo potted two goals and 11 assists. He also missed two games due to suspension for a charging penalty on February 6th.
The play in question was from an ill-timed hit when the opposing player had not quite received the puck yet.
Woo hasn't been afraid to continue to be physical when the chance arises despite being suspended for those couple of games. He has been aggressive in all three zones and has been rewarded with a few months of fantastic offensive numbers.
Woo sits sixth in WHL defencemen scoring, second in power-play assists, and fourth in points-per-game.

First Star - F William Lockwood

William Lockwood has taken a big step forward in the second half of the season for Michigan.
In January, it was announced that his centre for most of the season, Josh Norris, was going to be lost to injury for the remainder of the year. It was fair to expect that Lockwood would suffer from losing his linemate, but the Canucks 2016 3rd round pick has taken charge from that moment onwards.
In the seven games that he has played in during February, Lockwood posted four goals and four assists. That includes a current five game point streak that he takes into competition this weekend.
In the February 1st game, Lockwood scored in his fifth straight game and was the second Michigan player to do so this season.
His point totals this season are a great representation of how hard he has been working on a nightly basis. He continues to flash that tenacious work ethic, great edge work, quick feet, and smart reads on loose pucks.

Honourable Mentions

D Quinn Hughes: Hughes continued his strong play throughout the month of February, but given that he has been in almost every prospect update, he was bumped out of the three stars to allow the light to be shined on some of the other prospects. In seven NCAA games this month, Hughes posted two goals and seven assists.
F Zack MacEwen: The hulking winger made his NHL debut this month that limited to him to five AHL games this past month. He did however make an impact in those four games with one goal and six assists. MacEwen likely will see quite a few months next season where he is splitting his time between the big club and Utica.
D Mitch Eliot: Eliot was signed as a free agent by the Canucks in December and he has been piling up the points in the OHL ever since. In eleven games with the Sarnia Sting this month, Eliot posted three goals and eight assists. The right-handed defender has 50 points (16-34-50) in 60 games this season.
