Sedins

Even in retirement, the accolades continue rolling in for the Sedins.

Daniel and Henrik Sedin are part of the 2019 BC Sports Hall of Fame Induction class that will be formally inducted in May.
The 53rd class was revealed at a press conference at BC Place Wednesday; the 2019 class features five athletes, three builder-coaches, one team, one pioneer, one media member and one W.A.C. Bennett award winner.
The Sedins, the 38-year-old brothers who almost identically rewrote Vancouver Canucks franchise history books with their dominant play since beginning their NHL careers in 2000-2001, were on hand for the announcement.
"It's an honour to get recognized for something you did throughout your entire career," said Daniel, the second highest-scoring player in team history. "When you're caught up playing, you're just trying to win. So now it's nice to get rewarded for all the hard work."
"We got the call a few weeks ago and it was an honour," added Henrik, the highest-scoring player in team history. "It really means something for us to come from a small town in Sweden and now 20 years later to be inducted into the BC Sports Hall of Fame in Vancouver."

Sedins to be Inducted into BC Sports Hall of Fame

The honour is the second bestowed upon the Sedin is as many months after it was revealed in October the Canucks will be retiring both Daniel and Henrik's jerseys during the team's 50th anniversary season next year.
The only two players in franchise history to surpass 1,000 points each are also the only brothers to do so in NHL history, and their No. 22 and No. 33 will join Smyl's No. 12, Linden's No. 16, Naslund's No. 19 and Bure's No. 10 in the rafters at Rogers Arena.
