Blog Boeser, Vol 4

by Brock Boeser @BBoeser16 / Canucks prospect

Hello again!

Forgive me for not writing in a few days, I've been busy with work. The boys and I are hoping to rebound this week after a tough start to the season; seems ridiculous to call it do-or-die already, but it's must win for me this week.

Oh you thought I was talking about hockey?!

I'm 0-and-2 to start the fantasy football season. Losing David Johnson was tough, but I grabbed his backup and Arizona's new starter Kerwynn Williams. All was right in the world again. Confidence was high. A win was in the cards. And then Williams ran for 22 yards, while C.J. Anderson rumbled for 154 yards and two touchdowns ON MY BENCH!

I'm very glad I brought this up. Luckily I traded for Marshawn Lynch today, so now I'm just 'bout that action boss. Time for some Beastmode!

Last time I blogged, Canucks Training Camp was a day old. Those first few days were very hard, the tempo of the practices was something not a lot of us had experienced, other than the guys who have had Coach Green before. I've learned a lot and I think I've already gotten better and now I'm trying to keep raising the bar for myself.

I was really excited to get to play in Los Angeles this past weekend. Every time I have a chance to prove myself, I want to make the most of it. I had never been to LA, so that was a treat. When we landed Friday, a bunch of us went for sushi, and then toured around LA Live before shutting it down. When I woke up and opened the curtains, the Staples Center was right there. Epic building. Walking over for the game there was a red carpet for the Emmy's set-up and celebrity check-in, it was pretty cool. That's a fantastic rink, probably only behind Madison Square Garden on my all-time list.

The game was fun, but tough. Nice to get back into real game action and I was happy to get the puck on my stick in overtime. I saw the LA guys changing and I wanted to get the puck up quick into the offensive zone. I knew I didn't have much time, and I cut to the middle on the play before and wanted to do it again. I did, got my shot through and luckily it went in. Years of shooting the puck for hours in my driveway was worth it. Shoutout to the Burnsville Training Center for all the training help too!

Sunday's game in Vancouver was a lot different than in LA. We had a much younger group and it was a lot of guys' first game with the Canucks. Some guys had jitters and we clearly didn't play to our potential; we have to play better in our D-zone, win more battles and play harder in general Wednesday in Calgary.

We had a day off Monday, which was awesome. I let the body rest up before going five-pin bowling with Zack MacEwen, Griffen Molino, Thatcher Demko and Aaron Irving. Even though I won the bowling game, I would always rather bowl 10-pin. Next time.

Word count says that's 531 words, that's about my max today!

Go Canucks!
