The AHL affiliate of the Blue Jackets had a tough road trip this past weekend, dropping games by scores of 5-0 and 6-2 against a Providence team that leads the AHL Atlantic Division.
Owen Sillinger had the two Cleveland goals in the series finale, while 2024 third-round pick Luca Marrelli made his pro debut after rehabbing from offseason shoulder surgery, notching an assist in his first game on defense.
The Monsters are now 17-14-4-1, and Cleveland is sixth in the AHL North but fifth in points percentage. AHL All-Star Luca Del Bel Belluz leads the team in goals (10) and points (25) in his 24 games, while Luca Pinelli (9-10-24) and Mikael Pyyhtiä (7-15-22) follow and Jack Williams is up to 18 points in his rookie year. Ivan Fedotov has a 2.61 GAA between the pipes.
Cleveland returns home to host Chicago on Wednesday and Thursday, then travels to take on Rochester on Saturday.
