Wild About Reading

The Minnesota Wild are proud to present the Wild About Reading program which will unofficially launch on Monday, April 26, 2021. The goal of Wild About Reading is to increase student literacy by encouraging kids to read. While many students are still "distance learning" from home, Wild About Reading is a great way for students to stay engaged with reading at home or at school while participating in a reading program with a Minnesota Wild theme.

Wild About Reading is a 4-week program (April 26 - May 21) which allows parents, students and teachers to download weekly posters, reading logs and bookmarks from the comfort of their home. Additionally, teachers can use the reading logs to set weekly goals and distribute certificates of completion to students once they finish the 4-week program.

New this year, 12 participating classrooms will be randomly selected to receive a virtual classroom visit from the wife or significant other of a Minnesota Wild player. Virtual classroom visits will be scheduled the week of May 17, 2021. Minnesota Wild players' wives will virtually read an age-appropriate book to the entire classroom. After each appearance, Wild players will sign the books read by their wife or significant other. Autographed books will be donated to the participating school or classroom.

If you wish to register for the virtual classroom visit, please register here.
