2017 Minnesota Wild Leadership Summit Recap

The Minnesota Wild hosted its inaugural Minnesota Wild Leadership Summit, presented by Xcel Energy, on Tuesday, July 11th, 2017 in conjunction with the Minnesota Wild Development Camp. Over 250 coaches and boys and girls hockey captains from 56 Minnesota high school teams had the opportunity to hear from various coaches, former captains and sports industry leaders on what it takes to become a great leader. Minnesota Wild Head Coach Bruce Boudreau surprised the captains during the presentation of captains' certificates and all attendees were invited to attend the Minnesota Wild Development Camp Green vs. White Scrimmage.

The Minnesota Wild Leadership Summit was the first of its kind in Minnesota and throughout the NHL and was well received by those who attended and participated.

"It was an honor to be part of this great event. I love the concept. The staff on hand did a great job organizing and operating the event. Congrats on getting this event off the ground with success. I believe it will continue to grow each year moving forward. Thanks again for the opportunity" - Chris Brown, Head Men's Hockey Coach, Augsburg College

"[The Minnesota Wild Leadership Summit] was great for our captains, and me, to hear from the presenters. There was a lot of good information!" - Jacob Mars, Head Junior Varsity & Assistant Varsity Boy's Hockey Coach, Coon Rapids High School

"[The Minnesota Wild Leadership Summit] was well worth the drive and traffic from Fergus Falls. The day was well organized and so beneficial to both captains AND coaches. I believe all speakers and panels helped break down the barriers from both sides and I could tell on the drive home. I found out a lot of information I don't believe I normally would have prior to this seminar. Thanks again and please do it again next summer." - Tim Lill, Head Girl's Hockey Coach

The Minnesota Wild Leadership Summit was a free event supported by Minnesota Hockey, the Minnesota State High School League and the Minnesota Boys and Girls Hockey Coaches Associations.
