The Capitals complete their season-long six-game road trip and their season series with the Red Wings tonight at 7:30 p.m. at Little Caesars Arena. The Capitals trail in the season series 0-1-1 and dropped the most recent matchup 3-2 in overtime on Dec. 21 in Detroit. Dylan Strome leads Washington with three points (3a) in two games against the Red Wings this season. The Capitals have earned at least one point in 15 of their last 20 games versus Detroit (12-5-3) and are 7-3-1 at Little Caesars Arena all-time.

Including tonight’s contest, Washington will play four straight games against Eastern Conference teams currently in playoff position or within six points of a playoff spot. Three of the four games are against Metropolitan Division opponents (Jan. 31 vs. CAR; Feb. 2 vs. NYI; Feb. 3 at PHI). The Capitals (25-22-7, 57 points) currently sit six points out of second and third place in the division.
