HOCKEY ACADEMY PROGRAMS

Pre-Hockey: 45 minute class focusing on the beginning stages of learning to skate - forward and backward skating, swizzles, one-foot glides, and snowplow stops. Hockey gear is required. No sticks or pucks at this stage. All players must pass Pre Hockey before entering Hockey Academy. In Hockey Academy all hockey gear is required.

7 and Under: 45 minute training session incorporating USA Hockey ADM-style drills, skill stations, and games. Players are divided by skill level.

8 and Up: 45 minute training session incorporating USA Hockey ADM-style drills, skill stations, and games. Players are divided by skill level.

Semesters

Hockey Academy classes are broken into the following semesters:

  • January 1 - February 28
  • March 1 - April 30
  • May 1 - June 30
  • July 1 - August 31
  • September 1 - October 31
  • November 1 - December 31

Pricing

Pre-Hockey: $18.00 per class

Hockey Academy: $36.00 for individual classes

$18.00 per class when signing up for the whole semester

Prices are over a 2 month season with each session lasting 45 minutes. Skaters will receive FREE skate rentals on the day of their class. Skaters will also have the option to purchase a monthly unlimited public skating pass for $75.

New to the program? If you are new to the Dallas Stars Hockey Academy, you can choose to register your athlete with USA Hockey and a USA Hockey number will be assigned to your athlete. This provides you with insurance and other great benefits.

You will need a digital copy of your child's birth certificate to complete the registration. An uploaded picture is acceptable.

POWER AND EDGE CLASS

Youth Hockey Power & Edge Class

The Hockey Academy Power & Edge class focuses on two major skating skills every player needs to possess in order to be successful in the game - Power Generation and Edge Control. Skaters will learn proper technique to improve bilateral skating skills, balance, and control with speed and body position awareness. This class is designed for current youth players ages 8-17.
