Ratzlaff

Buffalo Sabres prospect and Jacksonville Icemen goaltender Scott Ratzlaff was named ECHL Rookie of the Month for October, the league announced Tuesday.

Ratzlaff, 20, won all three of his appearances while ranking third among all ECHL goalies in save percentage (.966) and fifth in goals-against average (1.29). He’s made 38, 42 and 32 saves in those three games, helping the Icemen to a 5-2-0-0 start to the season.

The Sabres drafted Ratzlaff in the fifth round (141st overall) of the 2023 NHL Draft and signed him to an entry-level contract in October 2024. This season marks his professional debut after 166 games with the WHL’s Seattle Thunderbirds across the previous five seasons.
