Health, Safety and COVID-19 Measures:
As you probably know, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) earlier this week made the recommendation that everyone, including fully vaccinated people, begin wearing masks in public indoor settings in areas with high or substantial COVID-19 transmission rates. Davidson County, the City of Nashville and many surrounding counties are included in the recommendation because of our current COVID 19 transmission rates.
We are disheartened and very concerned about these fast-rising transmission rates, and to that end, we are updating our face covering policies to recommending that ALL guests and athletes, regardless of vaccination status, wear masks inside Ford Ice Center, except when those guests are actively eating or drinking, or athletes are participating in on-ice activities. Please note that all employees will be wearing masks at all times while indoors while this CDC recommendation is in place, beginning Friday, July 30th. We will continue to monitor available data and recommendations from our government agency partners at the local, state and federal levels and make any necessary changes as new data and recommendations become available to us.
We thank you for your patience during this ever-changing time. Please join us as advocates and ask your friends and loved ones in the state of Tennessee and across the country to please get vaccinated if they are eligible. We want nothing more than to permanently restore Ford Ice Center to a state of "normalcy" for all guests, athletes, and staff members, but until vaccination rates increase to necessary levels, we fear that normalcy is unlikely. So, SMASHVILLE please, Do Your Part, Take the Shot!
- Facial Coverings are required for all guests and participants inside of Ford Ice Centers who are not vaccinated. Facial coverings are strongly reccomended for vaccinated guests.
- Facial coverings are not required during on-ice activities for those who are fully vaccinated.
- Coaches who are not fully vaccinated must still wear masks on the ice and benches.
- Pre-registration is still required for all programs.
- Partcipants must continue to check in at the front desk prior to arrival.
- Participants must check in at the front desk before all programs.
Thank you for doing your part and abiding by these policies and by getting vaccinated. As we continue to see cases drop in our area, we will look to remove additional COVID-related policies when appropriate.
