CALGARY --Pierre-Luc Dubois scored twice for the Winnipeg Jets in a 5-3 win against the Calgary Flames at Scotiabank Saddledome on Friday.
Each of Dubois' goals were scored in the first period before he left the game because of a lower-body injury. Kyle Connor had a goal and two assists, and Dylan DeMelo and Josh Morrissey each had two assists for the Jets in their preseason finale (4-1-1). Connor Hellebuyck made 35 saves. Nazem Kadri scored his first goal with the Flames, who finished the preseason 4-4-0. Jacob Markstrom made 11 saves. Dubois gave Winnipeg a 1-0 lead at 4:18 of the first, and Nikolaj Ehlers made it 2-0 at 8:29. Tyler Toffoli cut it to 2-1 at 15:05, but Dubois gave the Jets a 3-1 lead with a power-play goal at 17:17. Blake Coleman scored at 5:00 of the second period to cut it to 3-2, but Connor restored Winnipeg's two-goal lead at 9:27 to make it 4-2. Mark Scheifele gave the Jets a 5-2 lead when he scored short-handed at 16:52. Kadri, who signed a seven-year contract with Calgary ($7 million average annual value) on Aug. 18, scored at 16:23 for the 5-3 final.
