Status report

Burakovsky is out 6 to 8 weeks after the forward was injured in a 4-1 loss to the New York Rangers on Saturday. McCann will drop down from the first line to replace him, with Kartye moving up to the top line. ... Petry, a defenseman, and Kostin, a forward, are day to day. Red Wings coach Derek Lalonde said there could be a callup from Grand Rapids of the American Hockey League if they're not expected back for the home game against the Winnipeg Jets on Thursday.
