There are two games on the NHL schedule for Wednesday. Here are five things to watch, along with the complete game schedule.

Learning to Fly

Matvei Michkov will look to extend his goal streak and help the Philadelphia Flyers (2-6-3) to their third win in a row when they play the Buffalo Sabres at KeyBank Center (7:30 p.m. ET; HBO MAX, truTV, TNT). The 21-year-old forward has scored in three consecutive games (four goals, one assist) and can became the first Flyers skater age 21 or younger with a goal in four straight since Nolan Patrick in 2017-18. Michkov scored twice in a 3-2 win against the Colorado Avalanche on Monday. He leads the Flyers with six goals, and his seven points are tied with Trevor Zegras for the team lead.

Brady's back

Brady Tkachuk returns to where his NHL career began and it will be interesting to see the response he gets inside Canadian Tire Centre when the Florida Panthers visit the Ottawa Senators (7:30 p.m. ET; Prime, SCRIPPS). Tkachuk was Senators captain for five seasons (2021-22 to 2025-26) and a big part of their rebuild before he was acquired in a trade with the Panthers on June 21 for two first-round picks in the 2026 NHL Draft, a second-round pick in the 2027 NHL Draft and a conditional first-round pick in the 2029 NHL Draft. Brady and his brother, Matthew Tkachuk, are looking to bring the Panthers back to the Stanley Cup Playoffs after not qualifying last season.

Jack of all trades

Jack Quinn has seven points (three goals, four assists) in his past four games for the Sabres (4-3-2). He has nine points (five goals, four assists) in nine games, tied with Tage Thompson for the team lead, and 11 points (seven goals, four assists) in his past eight against the Flyers, including a five-game point streak (five goals, three assists).

Don't let it end

The Senators (6-3-0) are tied with the Panthers (5-2-2) with 12 points and are loving this October. They're one win from seven, which they achieved in the month just six times. Their top October performances came in 1997-98 (8-3-3,19 points) and 2007-08 (9-1-0, 18 points).

Hats off

The Panthers have had four hat tricks in their past three games -- the first two from Brady Tkachuk in a 7-3 win against the Columbus Blue Jackets on Oct. 13 and a 3-2 overtime win against the Vancouver Canucks two nights later. Then Carter Verhaeghe and Sam Bennett each had one in an 8-3 victory against the Seattle Kraken on Oct. 17. Brady has 10 points (six goals, four assists) in nine games for the Panthers. Only Pavel Bure (10), Ray Whitney (seven) and Ray Sheppard (seven) scored more goals through their first 10 games with the franchise.
