FRISCO, Texas -- Dallas Stars General Manager Jim Nill announced today that the club has signed forward David Perron to a one-year contract that will carry an annual average value (AAV) of $850,000 for the 2026-27 season.

“We are excited to welcome David and his family to the Stars organization,” said Nill. “He brings a competitive mindset and a proven ability to perform in big moments. We believe his veteran leadership and skill set will be a valuable addition to our group as we continue to build toward our goal of winning a Stanley Cup.”

Perron, 38, recorded 28 points (13-15—28) in 65 regular-season games played with the Ottawa Senators and Detroit Red Wings during the 2025-26 campaign.

The 6-foot, 202-pound forward has compiled 812 points (332-480—812) and 877 penalty minutes in 1,239 career regular-season games with the St. Louis Blues, Edmonton Oilers, Pittsburgh Penguins, Anaheim Ducks, Vegas Golden Knights, Ottawa Senators and Detroit Red Wings. He set career highs in 2017-18 with the Golden Knights in assists (50) and points (66), helping lead the team to the Stanley Cup Final. The Sherbrooke, Quebec, native has also appeared in 110 career Stanley Cup Playoff games, totaling 64 points (26-38—64) and carrying a plus-minus rating of plus-5 in those contests.

Originally selected by the St. Louis Blues in the first round (26th overall) of the 2007 NHL Draft, Perron became a Stanley Cup Champion in 2019 with the Blues after tallying 16 points (7-9—16) in 26 postseason games. The seven-time 20-plus goal scorer also represented St. Louis at the 2020 NHL All-Star Game and was selected to the NHL YoungStars Game in 2008 and 2009.
