The Avalanche will use 11 forwards and seven defensemen. ... Colorado coach Jared Bednar said the expectation is for O'Connor to make his season debut against the Tampa Bay Lightning on Friday; the forward will by then have missed the minimum 10 days required by being on long-term injured reserve. ... Roy is expected to begin skating this week, Bednar said. The forward will miss his third straight game and is considered week to week. ... L'Heureux, a forward, did not travel with the Avalanche and is considered week to week. ... Knuble and Bump were recalled from Lehigh Valley of the American Hockey League on Monday, along with McDonald, a defenseman. If Knuble plays it would be his first NHL game. ... Flyers coach Rick Tocchet said forwards Couturier and Foerster are game-time decisions. Foerster missed the final 3:59 of the first period against the Ottawa Senators on Saturday but returned for the final two periods. He took part in an optional morning skate. ... Tippett was placed on injured reserve Monday. The forward will miss his second straight game. Gaucher was recalled from the AHL and it's unknown if the forward will play. ... The Flyers reassigned forward Jack Studnicka and defenseman Helge Grans to the AHL on Sunday and placed York, a defenseman, on injured reserve retroactive to Oct. 8.
