BOISE, Idaho --Nicolas Roy had a goal and an assist for the Vegas Golden Knights in a 5-1 win against the Arizona Coyotes at Idaho Central Arena on Saturday.
Reilly Smith had two assists for Vegas, which ended its preseason 4-2-1. Travis Boyd scored for Arizona, which finished 0-6-1 in the preseason. Chandler Stephenson gave the Golden Knights a 1-0 lead with a power-play goal at 5:55 of the first period. Roy made it 2-0 at 7:47, and Jonathan Marchessault pushed it to 3-0 at 15:11 before Boyd cut it to 3-1 at 18:12. Jack Eichel gave the Golden Knights a 4-1 lead at 2:12 of the third period on a power play when the puck deflected off his skate on a clearing pass from behind the net by Coyotes defenseman J.J. Moser. Alex Pietrangelo scored on a one-timer at 11:47 for the 5-1 final.
