Jason Botterill

Named the second general manager in Kraken history in the summer of 2025, Botterill has been with the organization since its inaugural season.

Orchestrated the March deadline deal that brought winger Bobby McMann to the team from Toronto ahead of signing him to a six-year extension after he scored 10 goals in only 18 games.

Prior to coming to Seattle, Botterill was the General Manager of the Buffalo Sabres from 2017 to 2020, notably drafting current team captain Rasmus Dahlin as well as forward Dylan Cozens. Botterill also orchestrated the 2019 trade with St. Louis that brought two-time 40-goal man Tage Thompson to Buffalo. Botterill previously spent a decade working for the Pittsburgh Penguins front office, helping construct a Penguins roster that won three Stanley Cups (2009, 2016, 2017). The former NHL left wing was selected 20th overall by Dallas in the 1994 Draft.

Born in Edmonton but raised in Winnipeg, he played for Canada from 1994-96 and became the only player to win three straight gold medals at the U20 World Junior Championship. 

Fun Facts:
His sister Jennifer won three straight Olympic gold medals for Canada's national women's team and is a Hockey Hall of Fame member. His mother was an Olympic speed skater for Canada in the 1964 and 1968 Games. His father is a renowned sports psychologist. Wife Andrea, was an All-American gymnast at the University of Michigan.
