The Flyers are committed to growing the game of hockey in the Greater Philadelphia Region. Together with the NHL and USA Hockey, we strive to provide opportunities for people from all walks of life to participate in our great game.

Below, you can find programs to get involved with based on your skill level! If your family needs financial assistance at any level, scholarships are available through Flyers Charities.

No experience? You can learn hockey through various programs and clinics.

Learn To Play Ball Hockey

The Flyers Learn to Play Ball Hockey program provides kids with the opportunity to play hockey without stepping on the ice. Participating sites host weekly ball hockey clinics for kids ages 4-9 throughout the Spring. All participants will receive a Flyers-branded street hockey stick, reversible pinnie, and hockey ball along with weekly instruction and visits from Flyers Alumni.

Try Hockey for Free

No experience is required for Try Hockey for Free! This hour-long on-ice clinic provides kids ages 5-9 with head-to-toe loaner equipment to borrow and is hosted by skilled and experienced volunteer coaches. Try Hockey for Free is geared toward participants with no previous hockey experience. Girls-only sessions are also hosted through Girls Try Hockey for Free for girls ages 5-12.

Learn to Skate

Learn to Skate is the perfect starting point for building both fundamental skating skills and on-ice confidence and is highly recommended before participating in a Learn to Play program. Each 60-minute class includes 30 minutes of guided instruction, followed by 30 minutes of free skate time to practice and grow more comfortable on the ice.

Learn to Play Rookie Program presented by Holman
