Drew Bannister

Head Coach

Drew Bannister was named head coach on Dec. 12, 2023 after spending three seasons with the Blues' AHL affiliate, the Springfield Thunderbirds. Bannister guided the Thunderbirds to consecutive playoff appearances, including in 2021-22 when they won the Eastern Conference and reached the Calder Cup Final.

Steve Ott

Associate Coach

Steve Ott joined the Blues as a player in the 2013-14 season and played 122 games with the organization. He signed on as an assistant coach in the summer of 2017, and was promoted to Associate Coach in June 2024. Ott played in 848 NHL games from 2002-17, amassing 288 points and 1,555 penalty minutes.

Claude Julien

Assistant Coach

Claude Julien comes to the Blues with more than 20 years of coaching experience, including 19 seasons as an NHL head coach. He began his career as the head coach of the Montreal Canadiens in 2002, where he spent three seasons. Julien then spent one year behind the New Jersey Devils bench before serving 10 seasons with the Boston Bruins, eventually leading them to the 2011 Stanley Cup Championship. Following his time in Boston, Julien returned to Montreal to coach the Canadiens for five more seasons from 2016-2021. In June 2024, he joined the Blues' bench as an assistant coach.

Mike Weber

Assistant Coach

Mike Weber joined the Blues as an assistant coach in June 2023 after a three-year stint as an assistant coach with the AHL's Rochester Americans. The Pittsburgh native played defense and was drafted by the Buffalo Sabres in 2006. He appeared in 351 career NHL games over nine seasons.

David Alexander

Goaltending Coach

A Moncton, NB native, David comes to the Blues from the Syracuse Crunch, where he served as goaltending coach for 4 seasons. While in Syracuse, David worked with standout goaltenders Andrei Vasilevsky, Kristers Gudlevskis and Mike McKenna.

Michael Babcock

Skills Coach

Michael Babcock joined the Blues as a skills coach in June 2023 after working the 2022-23 season with the Ottawa Senators. He also spent two seasons running the defense and power play for the University of Saskatchewan. Babcock is the son of former NHL Head Coach Mike Babcock.
