The Calgary Flames announce today that they have re-signed forwards Rory Kerins and Sam Morton, each to a one-year, two-way contract. 

Kerins, a native of Caledon, ON, skated in four games for the Calgary Flames in 2025-26 and 56 with the Calgary Wranglers. The 24-year-old was third in team scoring with the Wranglers, putting up 22 goals and 35 assists. After being sidelined with an injury for a month, Kerins came back and finished the season with 12 points in his last six games.

Kerins had his breakout season in the 2024-25 campaign, leading the Calgary Wranglers in points with 61 and being named to the AHL All-Star game for the first time in his career. He made his debut with the Calgary Flames on January 13, 2025, where he posted a pair of assists.

Sam Morton, a native of Lafayette, CO, made his NHL debut at the end of the 2024-25 season, where he debuted alongside Hunter Brzustewicz, Zayne Parekh, and Aydar Suniev in the final game of the Flames’ season. In the 2025-26 season, he appeared in three games for the Flames and 68 with the Calgary Wranglers, where he put up 38 points.
