Gimli to host the 2026 Jets Town Takeover on March 19, 2026

Wednesday, March 18th

Winnipeg Jets alumni Ray Neufeld, Randy Gilhen and Derek Meech will join the Jets Hockey Development team for an evening of on-ice sessions with Gimli minor hockey teams. Players from the U7 to U18 programs will have the opportunity to skate with the pros for an hour and work on skills and drills.

Thursday, March 19th

The day will start with our Project 11 team hosting workshops with each of the three schools to encourage students to practice mental wellness and strategies to help in stressful situations.

The Jets Town Takeover concludes with a free, family friendly social-style viewing party at the Gimli Recreation Centre. Doors for the viewing party open at 5:00pm with puckdrop slated for 6:00pm as the Jets visit Boston to take on the Bruins. The evening will be hosted by Jets in-game hosts and include prizes to give away, autographs from Jets alumni and an opportunity to get your hands on the infamous Jets Dog.
