Canucks Introduce New 'Daniel & Henrik Sedin' Award

VANCOUVER, B.C. - The Vancouver Canucks announced the addition of the "Daniel & Henrik Sedin Award" to the annual player awards, beginning for the 2019.20 season. The new award will recognize one Canucks player who best exemplifies outstanding community leadership qualities and humanitarian contributions to his community. The award will be selected by a panel of Canucks Sports & Entertainment members.

"Community has always been a core value of the Canucks organization and has been brought to life through incredible ambassadors, like Daniel and Henrik Sedin," said Trent Carroll, COO, Canucks Sports & Entertainment. "They were two individuals that always went above and beyond for others and, with the introduction of the 'Daniel & Henrik Sedin Award', we intend to honour and inspire acts of generosity and contributions in the community for generations to come."

Starting on June 24, on-line voting for the annual 2019.20 Canucks player awards will open to fans at Canucks.com/playerawards. Fans can voice their sentiments on four player awards up until July 2nd, when voting closes. Winners will be announced the week of July 6.

• Cyclone Taylor Trophy - "Most Valuable Player" (fan vote)
• Walter (Babe) Pratt Trophy - "Best Defenceman" (fan vote)
• Pavel Bure Award - "Most Exciting Player" (fan vote)
• Fred J. Hume Award - "Unsung Hero" (fan vote)
• Three Star Award Award - "Most Three Stars Selections"
• Cyrus H. McLean Trophy - "Leading Scorer"
