Brad Thiessen, Goaltending Development Coach

Brad Thiessen joined the Blue Jackets as the organization's goaltending development coach on June 16, 2021.

Thiessen played 12 seasons of professional hockey before retiring at the end of the 2020-21 campaign. A native of Aldergrove, British Columbia native, he posted a 146-100-40 record with a 2.51 goals-against average, .909 save percentage and 28 shutouts in 290 career AHL games. He spent his last six campaigns with the Cleveland Monsters, Columbus's AHL affiliate.

The former netminder also played in five career NHL games with the Pittsburgh Penguins in 2011-12, going 3-1-0 with a 3.72 GAA and .858 SV%. He played college hockey at Northeastern University and posted a 52-46-12 record with a 2.40 GAA and .922 SV% in 111 career games from 2006-09.

Thiessen and his wife, Ashlee, are the parents of sons, Nash and Brody; and daughter, Aubree. The family resides in suburban Cleveland.
