• Drafted by Columbus in the first round, first overall, at the 2002 NHL Draft.
• Traded by the Blue Jackets to the New York Rangers with D Steve Delisle and a conditional third round pick in exchange for C Brandon Dubinsky, C Artem Anisimov, D Tim Erixon and a first-round pick in the 2013 NHL Draft on July 23, 2012.

• He and his family currently resides in New Albany and was named the Blue Jackets' director of player development in June 2021 after serving as the club's special assistant to the general manager from 2019-21.
