How do I get invited to Auditions?
The Blue Jackets will assess each applicant based on all parts of their submitted application. There are a limited number of applicants who will be invited to Auditions; not all applicants will be invited to Auditions.
What do Auditions consist of?
Auditions will consist of interactive group games, improv activities, and opportunities to interact with other candidates and the judges. These activities are meant to assess each candidate’s personality, enthusiasm, energy, teamwork skills and their comfort level in front of a crowd.
Can I audition for more than one position?
Yes, candidates are welcome to audition for one or more positions. When you apply, please indicate on the application which positions you would like to be considered for.
What time should I arrive for Auditions?
Check-in will open at 9:30 AM and close at 10:15 AM. Candidates who arrive after 10:15 AM will not be permitted to participate in Auditions.
What is the timeframe for Auditions?
Auditions will begin promptly at 10:30 AM. Auditions will conclude at 2:30 PM.
What should I wear to Auditions?
Candidates must wear a white shirt and black athletic/workout attire including athletic shoes.
When will I find out if I am selected to the teams?
The team selections will be posted here (bluejackets.com/promoteams) the Tuesday immediately following auditions.
What is required of me after I am selected?
All team members will be required to attend the following mandatory team-related activities:
Team Mixer and Team Orientation - dates to be announced later
Be sure these dates are reserved on your calendar if you plan to audition for the teams. Team members will be compensated for these events.
WHAT IS THE JET'S PIZZA GOAL PATROL?
During Blue Jackets home games, Jet’s Pizza Goal Patrol (GP) greets fans as they enter Nationwide Arena, select fans to participate in contests and distribute prizes to lucky sections. The Jet’s Pizza Goal Patrol preps all promotional items/prizing and props used during the game (ex: rolling T-shirts). The Jet’s Pizza Goal Patrol will also be responsible for Mascot handling upon assignment.
GP members must be 18 years or older at the time of application.
GP members must be dedicated, punctual, team-oriented, high-spirited, outgoing, and comfortable engaging with fans.
GP members must be able to follow a game script with assignments that coordinate all contests and promotions.
There are 41 CBJ home games each year. While GP is scheduled for all home games, not every team member is scheduled for each game. Team members are expected to be available to work 30 home games.
The GP also makes appearances in the community at festivals, parades, and community events.
GP members must report to Nationwide Arena 1-3 hours before game time. Official report time will be confirmed closer to the pre-season.
WHAT IS THE CANNON CREW?
During Blue Jackets home games, the Cannon Crew (CC) greets fans as they enter Nationwide Arena, teach fans about the history of the Blue Jackets Goal Cannon, facilitate photo opportunities for fans, and they rally the fans every time the Blue Jackets score, leading the goal celebrations next to the Blue Jackets Goal Cannon. CC members assist in executing select in-game contests and promotions.
The CC also makes appearances in the community at festivals, parades, and community events.
CC members must be 18 years or older at the time of application.
CC members must be dedicated, punctual, teamwork oriented, high-spirited, outgoing, and comfortable engaging with fans.
CC members must be able to maneuver a large flag multiple times during the games. CC members must learn a few facts about the Blue Jackets Goal Cannon from an info sheet provided to them by the team manager. CC members must be able to follow a game script with assignments that coordinate all contests and promotions.
CC members must commit to working at least 23 home games.
CC members must report to Nationwide Arena 90 minutes before game time (ex: 5:30pm for a 7:00pm game).
