The 45-minute multimedia school assembly program features everyone's favorite bug, Stinger, and the Blue Jackets education crew. Stinger and the students will discuss why active play is important, understand their resting vs. active heart rates and identify the best ways to play in order to meet Stinger's Power Play Challenge. Tailored specifically for 3rd and 4th graders, highlights of the assembly include Blue Jackets trivia, a Stinger dance party and a hockey shootout.
Throughout the assembly Stinger will challenge students to participate in at least 60 minutes of active play each day. To help meet Stinger's challenge, each student in attendance will go home with a Stinger activity tracker, Blue Jackets water bottle and a Go Play! lunch box from Thirty-One Gifts. In hopes of making hockey the preferred method of play among students, each school that hosts Stinger's Power Play Challenge will have a set of street hockey equipment donated to their physical education program.
