  • Open to boys and girls between the ages 5 to 8 years old.
  • USA Hockey and Blue Jackets Hockey League certified professional and volunteer staff devoted to a world class and developmentally appropriate experience.
  • Each season will consist of 20 ice sessions at consistent times and location.
  • Each season will culminate with a season ending festival and/or skills competitions.
  • Shorter seasons to allow players to enter at two occasions each year to promote multi-sport participation and Learn to Play Hockey 3 graduates to enter.
  • Blue Jackets home and away replica jerseys and socks. (One set per year)
  • Each registration will receive a ticket offer for 2022 - 2023 Columbus Blue Jackets home games.
  • Additional Columbus Blue Jackets experiences.

Early access to all participants who register between July 5th and July 12th and participated in CBJ Learn to Play and/or CAHA, CCYHA, and EYHA. Register anytime during this period.


July 13 - July 17*

For participants who did not participate in CBJ Learn to Play and/or the three house leagues, you can register during this period. Your spot will need to be approved with supporting documentation that demonstrates the experience level of your child. Please email with questions about documentation needed.

CBJ Learn to Play Hockey 2&3 players who are currently participating in the Learn to Play will be communicated with by your rink's Learn to Play Program Managers on how you will be able to enter the Fall and/or Winter Seasons. You will be able to transition immediately into the Blue Jackets Hockey League when you graduate Hockey 3.

*Winter Season Open Registration will be open until October 15.

Fall Season
July 18 - September 1
We will work to accommodate your requests when you register during this period. Your choice of rink might be limited.

Winter Season
November 1 - December 1


  • $350 for Fall
  • $350 for Winter

Players who register after the July 18th are subject to additional charges for expedited delivery of jerseys and limited choice of home ice rink.

Participants will be placed in age and developmentally appropriate "experience level" teams and groups.* Blue Jackets Hockey League staff will be constantly evaluating the groups/teams to provide the optimal challenge level consistent with the long-term development for all participants.

*If possible, we plan to have all girls' teams at each rink for families to choose as well.

There will be opportunities for participants to register for additional sessions during each season. More information and registration for these additional sessions will be communicated in early August.

All players, coaches, and volunteers need to have a USA Hockey Membership.

If you are interested to volunteer and be part of the Blue Jackets Hockey League, you will be able to get on the list during registration and there will be an application online in mid-July. We are looking for coaches, team managers, ambassadors, and other roles. All volunteers will be USA Hockey certified.
