Pavelski, a first time Olympian, collected two points in five games in his first international competition, the 2009 World Championships.
He joins teammate Paul Stastny as the only two members of the Olympic roster to have won a NCAA Division I National Championship. Pavelski won with the University of Wisconsin Badgers in 2006, while leading the team in overall points (23-33-56).
He captained the U.S. Junior Select Team to a silver medal in the 2004 Viking Cup, scoring four goals (4-4-8) in six games and was named USA Hockey’s Junior Player of the Year for 2003-04 season.
It's really exciting. I'm pretty sure that when I play my first game I'm going to be emotional. To be back on the ice playing a game, being in game situations, with all the routines and rituals I do before games and during the game, I feel like I'm going to be emotional. I'm going to be really happy.
