The Vegas Golden Knights fell 1-0 in overtime to the Minnesota Wild in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Playoffs First Round on Sunday afternoon at T-Mobile Arena. Minnesota leads the best-of-seven series, 1-0.
HOW IT WENT DOWN
The energy of the crowd at T-Mobile Arena was the story in the first period as Vegas and Minnesota skated to a heated 0-0 tie through 20 minutes. Neither side broke through in the middle frame and the Golden Knights and Wild took the ice for the final frame knotted in a scoreless tie. The score remained the same through 60 minutes and the first game of the series went to overtime. Joel Eriksson Ek scored at 3:20 of overtime to give Minnesota the win.
