Malcolm Subban out at least eight weeks

Goaltender Malcolm Subban had surgery Monday to repair a fractured larynx sustained when he was hit in the throat by a puck in an American Hockey League game on Feb. 6, the Boston Bruins announced in a statement.
There isn't an exact timetable for the return of Subban, who has been released from the hospital, but he is expected to miss a minimum of eight weeks.

Subban, the 24th pick in the 2012 NHL Draft, was called up by the Bruins earlier this month to back up Tuukka Rask for one game when Jonas Gustavsson was sidelined. He made his NHL debut on Feb. 20, 2015 in a 5-1 loss to the St. Louis Blues.
Subban is 14-8-5 in 27 games this season for Providence of the AHL with a 2.46 goals-against average and .911 save percentage.
