The 28-year-old Stecher registered 1-2-3 with 13 penalty minutes (PIM) in 29 games with the Detroit Red Wings and Los Angeles Kings in 2021-22. He also collected 2-2-4 and was plus-four in four Stanley Cup Playoff games with the Kings. Stecher led LAK defensemen in goals and points during the postseason.
The Richmond, BC native has totaled 15-74-89 with 149 PIM in 359 career NHL games with the Kings, Red Wings and Vancouver Canucks.
The 5-foot-10, 184-pound defenseman recorded an NHL career-high 24 points (3-21-24) in 71 games with Vancouver in 2016-17.
Stecher played collegiately at the University of North Dakota where he totaled 13-40-53 in 119 games before signing a two-year entry-level contract with the Canucks on April 13, 2016.
