KHN | Bjorkstrand's Cannon

Danish Winger Oliver Bjorkstrand was nicknamed the “The Maestro” long before he was a member of the Seattle Kraken. Columbus's former Head of Scouting, Bob Strumm noticed the play of a young Bjorkstrand in Denmark and encouraged the Portland Winterhawks (WHL) to give Oliver a look for the import draft. Strumm said Oliver's playmaking and possession game let him control games, almost like a conductor. Kraken Hockey Network broadcaster Piper Shaw offers a look into Oliver’s unique talents and how several aspects of his journey have come full circle.
