Fiona McKenna

Data Engineer

Fiona grew up playing forward. She won silver with Team USA at the U18 championships (2013) before playing four years at Princeton, serving as assistant captain her senior year, and one year (2018-19) with the Metropolitan Riveters of the NWHL. Off the ice, she taught herself how to code and build a financial model, which she applied in her first role at the Kraken as a member of the business intelligence team. In 2023, combined her technology skills with her love and knowledge of hockey to join the hockey operations team, where she now leverages data and her scouting skills on a daily basis.

As a senior, she won her team’s Patty Kazmaier Award – one that mirrors the national award that goes by the same name, recognizing the best all-around player that season. McKenna jokes she was probably the first player to win it without scoring any goals in her senior season. Faced off in one regular season game against Kraken assistant coach Jessica Campbell (2/22/14). Campbell had two assists, but McKenna’s Tigers won 4-3.
