Programs

Hockey Fights Cancer

Hockey Fights Cancer is a league-wide initiative uniting the hockey community in support of cancer patients and their families. Each season, the Vegas Golden Knights host a Hockey Fights Cancer night in support of the initiative.

Specialty lavender jerseys were signed and auctioned off during the game. We helped raise funds to benefit the Cure 4 the Kids and Zo’s Braveheart Foundation. In addition, Cure 4 the Kids was recognized with a special moment alongside the Golden Knights' bench to those who have fought, are fighting or who have a loved one battling cancer.

Black History Month

During the 2024-2025 season, the Vegas Golden Knights celebrated Black History Month by building a new playground at Donna Street Community Center.

More than 100 volunteers – including eight players from the Golden Knights – took part in the construction, which turned an empty courtyard into an expansive play space featuring multiple swings, slides, platforms and a climbing wall.

First Responder Appreciation

This season we recognized our first responders on three different nights throughout the month of January. We recognized our healthcare workers, firefighters, and law enforcement through the Vegas community with specialty signed jerseys. The jerseys were auctioned with funds benefiting the Vegas Golden Knights Foundation and our First Responder efforts and initiatives in the community.

In addition, the Vegas Golden Knights Foundation visited LVMPD precincts around the valley to show our appreciation, in addition to Noah Hanifin providing dinner and visiting with a Clark County Fire Department station.

Military Appreciation Knight

Each season, the Vegas Golden Knights recognize current and past military members during a select game in the month of November.

Specialty military jerseys were signed and auctioned off during the game with proceeds benefiting the Folded Flag Foundation which provides grants and scholarships to kids and spouses of US Military members who lost their lives in the line of duty.  In addition to the jersey auction, military members from local bases were invited to the game.

America's VetDogs - Maverick

The Vegas Golden Knights Foundation has partnered with the national non-profit, America's VetDogs, to help co-raise Maverick, a yellow labrador retriever, to undergo basic training and socialization with Golden Knights players, staff, and fans.

Maverick will then be trained to become a service dog, free of charge, to a Veteran, active-duty service member, or a first responder in need.

Nevada Reading Week

From March 3rd to March 7th, the Golden Knights and VGK Foundation celebrated Nevada Reading Week at several different elementary schools. Nevada Reading Week has been celebrated for more than 40 years. It was introduced in the community to promote literacy and a love of reading each year in the first week of March.

This year, the Vegas Golden Knights visited over twenty different schools reading to over 300 classes and over 5,000 students with special guest readers including Shea Theodore, Cole Schwint, Deryk Engelland, Gary Lawless, Ashali Vise, Katie Marie, and Bojo.

Holiday Knights of Giving

Each holiday season, the Vegas Golden Knights support the community for the holidays through various initiatives and programs.

This year, the team hosted its annual toy drive supporting Clark County Foster Care, a holiday food distribution, donation of over 200 bikes for youth in the community, and more.
