PRIDE Night

Background:

Vegas Vecchio is a queer and genderqueer artist based in the Seattle area. They primarily work as a Tattoo Artist where they tattoo in a variety of styles, some of their favorites being illustrative concepts with some combo of color, fine-line, and blackwork. Before becoming a tattoo artist, Vegas was a Live Painter for 2 years creating live portraits of musicians and artists at a local weekly music jam. They initially moved to Seattle from Pomeroy, (a very small town in eastern Washington) to study at the University of Washington where they graduated in 2022 with a Bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Visual Art with an emphasis on Painting and Drawing.

Description:

Each piece of artwork is connected through the overarching theme of pride and meant to evoke the magic of queer and trans joy. The black background in the artwork is meant to signify the darkness, hardship, and struggle so many of us face on our journey to find and accept our own unique identity; we are the bright colors bursting through the darkness, unafraid to be unapologetically ourselves. You will find rainbows, pride flags, and queer symbolism throughout each piece, some loud and proud, and others more subtle. Together we are strong, and united we are proud. We stand for love.
