Recap: Ducks Snap Streak with 3-0 Victory Over Wild

by Kyle Shohara @kyleshohara / AnaheimDucks.com

In the words of the late, great Etta James, "Attttt lasssttttttt."

A winless streak that reached 12 consecutive games finally ended tonight when the Ducks defeated the Minnesota Wild, 3-0, at the Xcel Energy Center on Thursday night. The win came exactly one month to the day of their last victory on December 17 in Pittsburgh. Unlike in recent shortcomings, there weren't any blown leads tonight. There weren't any letdowns. There weren't any disappointments. Instead, the Ducks collectively rose to the challenge by jumping out to a 3-0 lead within the first eight minutes of the game.

Recap: Ducks Let Another Third Period Lead Slip Away in 3-1 Loss to Wings

by Kyle Shohara @kyleshohara / AnaheimDucks.com

Usually it's a good thing when a team has a lead in the third period. But for the Ducks as of late, that simply isn't the case.

Tonight, they did what they've done in three of the past four games - have a lead in the final period of a game. And like they've done in three of the past four games, they found a way to give it up. The Ducks opened the scoring at the 12:03 mark of the second period to take a 1-0 lead, but they allowed the Red Wings to creep back in when it mattered most.

Recap: Ducks Earn a Point, but Fall 4-3 in Overtime to Jets

by Kyle Shohara @kyleshohara / AnaheimDucks.com

The game was on the blade of Cam Fowler's stick as he made a move on Connor Hellebuyck in the early stages of overtime. A quick deke to the backhand had the Jets goaltender beat, but Fowler's shot caught just enough of Hellebuyck's pad to keep it from crossing the stripe. It was that close - inches, even - to jubilation. Instead, heartbreak followed when Bryan Little scored the winning goal with just 10 seconds left in overtime. The result was a 4-3 OT loss for the Ducks, who saw their winless skid reach 11 consecutive games (0-7-4).
