In the 2020 NHL draft, the Capitals drafted five players. Get to know some of them a bit better:

Bear Hughes:
Bear is one of ten children, with six brothers and three sisters. The oldest sibling is 29 and his youngest sibling is 11. Bear lands right in the middle of them at 19. Growing up with that many siblings Bear says there was never a dull moment.

Aside from hockey, Bear played soccer for a few years at the beginning of high school and when he was a kid. During the offseason, he spends his time back home with family and friends in Idaho where he works with his older brother too. He also spends a lot of time on the lake near his house wake surfing
Hendrix Lapierre:
Lapierre has two younger sisters and a younger brother, but Hendrix is the only hockey player in the family. His first language was French but became bilingual around the age of 12. To his teammates, he is known as "Lappy."

He played soccer and tennis growing up but had to give them up to focus on hockey. If he wasn't playing hockey, he would've stuck with tennis competitively and in his spare time still plays often. He enjoys watching golf, tennis, basketball and hockey when not playing. His favorite tennis player is Canadian Denis Shapovalov.
Garin Bjorklund:
Bjorklund grew up playing hockey with his brother who is 16 months older than him. Hockey was the only sport he grew up playing competitively but likes to play baseball and basketball with friends for fun.
When not in season, Garin spends a lot of his time with family boating, fishing, and hunting in Alberta, Canada where he grew up. Fun fact: Garin has never been to the United States so when he gets to Washington, it might be his first time in the U.S.A.
