TOR-MTL: Game recaps | Preseason

MONTREAL – The Canadiens completed the sweep of split-squad games against the Toronto Maple Leafs with 4-3 (OT) and 4-1 wins at the Bell Centre and Scotiabank Arena, respectively, on Saturday.  

Cole Caufield finished a give-and-go with Lane Hutson in overtime to send the Montreal faithful home happy, while Phil Danault (2), Maksymilian Szuber and Samuel Poulin found the back of the net to give the Habs the upper hand in Toronto.

Juraj Slafkovsky, Ivan Demidov and Lane Hutson also scored for the Canadiens at the Bell Centre.

Jakub Dobes and Jacob Fowler shared goaltending duties at home, while Samuel Montembeault and Kaapo Kahkonen split the game on the road. The Montreal netminders combined for 42 saves on Saturday.
