DENVER – The Canadiens were outpaced by the Colorado Avalanche in a 7-2 loss at Ball Arena on Saturday.

Montreal’s youth provided the offense, with Ivan Demidov and Lane Hutson finding the back of the net in Denver. Juraj Slafkovsky, Cole Caufield and Nick Suzuki had the assists.

The Canadiens finished their road trip 2-1-0.
